Six months after the devastating terror attack at Bondi Beach in Sydney, a moving ceremony was held to print a new edition of the Tanya near the newly established Chabad House at the site.
The Chabad House was founded in memory of the Rebbe’s Shluchim, Rabbi Eli Schlanger HY”D and Rabbi Yaakov Levitin HY”D, who were murdered in the attack.
The Tanya printing brought together members of the local Jewish community and supporters of the new Chabad House, marking another step in transforming a place of tragedy into a source of Torah, Yiddishkeit, and Jewish life.
Among those addressing the gathering was Rabbi Yehoram Ulman, Rav of the Chabad community in Bondi and father-in-law of Rabbi Eli Schlanger HY”D. He spoke about the importance of increasing light, Torah, and holiness specifically in the place where terrorists sought to spread darkness and destruction, emphasizing that this is the Jewish response to terror.
The event served as a powerful expression of continuity and resilience, demonstrating how the legacy of the Shluchim continues to inspire and strengthen Jewish life in Bondi and beyond.
