Eden Prairie is a dynamic, family-centered community southwest of Minneapolis, home to more than 60,000 residents and known for its strong neighborhoods, excellent schools, and vibrant community life.
As Eden Prairie continues to grow, local Jewish life remains largely decentralized, without a dedicated Chabad center or established Jewish infrastructure of its own.
In the coming weeks, Rabbi Schneur and Sheina Matusof will move to Eden Prairie as its newly appointed Shluchim, with the goal of developing a warm, accessible center for Jewish life and building a Chabad House from the ground up.
Rabbi Schneur and Sheina bring years of hands-on experience in Jewish education, community programming, pastoral care, and creating meaningful personal connections. After many years of dedicated service, Rabbi Schneur and Sheina, together with their four children, are excited to bring their experience to Eden Prairie.
Their vision is a warm and welcoming home where every Jew—regardless of background or level of observance—can celebrate Shabbos and Jewish holidays, study Torah, connect with other Jewish families, and experience a genuine sense of belonging.
Planting Jewish Life is the founding campaign for this new grassroots Jewish infrastructure.
The campaign will provide the essential resources needed to establish a local Jewish center, launch holiday celebrations, classes, children’s programs, Shabbos meals, and community outreach, and begin building a lasting home for Jewish life in Eden Prairie.
Under the auspices of Upper Midwest Merkos–Lubavitch House and Chabad of Minneapolis, every contribution will help plant roots today that can grow into a flourishing Jewish community for generations to come.
