Two Days of Inspiration and Discussion: Kinus Mechanchim Concludes in Moscow

Dozens of Shluchim and mechanchim gathered in Moscow for two packed days of lectures, workshops, and educational discussions during the annual Educators Conference held at the Chabad House in Zhukovka, on the outskirts of the Russian capital • Full Story

The conference was held under the leadership and participation of Russia’s Chief Rabbi, Berel Lazar, who delivered a powerful keynote address emphasizing the importance of true Mesirus Nefesh in Chinuch.

“We must instill within ourselves genuine self-sacrifice in order to truly care for every child,” Rabbi Lazar told participants. He stressed that Mechanchim must serve as “living examples” for their students and constantly grow in their own Yiddishkeit and avodas Hashem.

Rabbi Lazar also highlighted the unique mission of Jewish education in modern-day Moscow, where many students come from families with limited Jewish background. “These children become a beacon that brings entire families back to Yiddishkeit,” he said.

A special guest at the conference was Chaim Shlomo Diskin, known internationally for his expertise in Chinuch, who addressed the challenges of educating today’s generation, particularly teenagers. Rabbi Nachum Rabinowitz, author of Mafteichos LaTalmud, also presented practical methods for teaching Gemara effectively to students of all levels.

The conference concluded with an emotional call for additional Shluchim and educators to join the rapidly expanding mosdos in Moscow, as the city’s institutions continue to grow at a remarkable pace.
