Opening of the New School Year at Moscow’s Yeshivah Ketana

The halls of Tomchei Temimim on the outskirts of Moscow have once again been filled with the sounds of Torah as the new school year gets underway. The month of Elul, with its spirit of renewal and the sounds of Torah, can be felt throughout the pastoral surroundings of the educational campus in the Istra neighborhood on the outskirts of Moscow.

Following Bein Hazmanim and extensive preparations, both physical and spiritual, the doors of the Tomchei Temimim Yeshivah Ketana reopened, as the halls came alive with the return of the Bochurim to their studies.

In an uplifting atmosphere of a new beginning, the students and excited parents were welcomed by the Rosh Yeshivah, Rabbi Moshe Lerman, together with campus director Rabbi Yosef Moshe Weisberg and yeshivah director Rabbi Chaim Moshe Weber. This year is marked by a significant step forward, with the yeshivah’s educational and physical systems upgraded and operating in a more organized, professional and dynamic manner than ever before.

One of the highlights of the new school year is the expansion and renovation of the facilities to accommodate additional students who wish to join the yeshivah, alongside a greater investment in the educational program itself. Significant attention has been devoted this year to the shiurim in the upper class, strengthening and deepening the personal connection between the teachers and students while preparing them for their transition to Yeshivah Gedolah the following year.

At the same time, the yeshivah’s teaching staff has been expanded with the addition of Rabbi Yosef Edrei, son-in-law of the director of the local orphanage, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Gol. Rabbi Edrei will serve as a Ram and Mashpia for the first-year students, providing guidance, warmth and a Chassidic atmosphere as they take their first steps in the yeshivah.

The uplifting atmosphere and significant investment have generated a strong sense of excitement throughout the yeshivah. Founded by Russia’s Chief Rabbi, Rabbi Berel Lazar, the yeshivah continues to establish itself as a beacon of pure Chassidic education alongside the other yeshivos operating in Moscow.

With a deep sense of responsibility and gratitude for the excellent conditions, the Bochurim have begun the new Zman immersed in Torah, ready to dedicate themselves to growing in Torah and Chassidus through intensive study from early morning until late at night, with vitality and joy.
