A Chabad Bochur from Crown Heights was stabbed in the back Wednesday at approximately 5:30 p.m. on West 47th Street in Manhattan’s Diamond District, while carrying out his daily Mivtzoim, visiting local businesses and helping Jewish business owners and workers put on Tefillin.
The attack occurred as the Bochur was making his way to the next person, while his brother remained with a local worker who was putting on Tefillin.
According to reports, the assailant approached the Bochur from behind, stabbed him and fled west toward Sixth Avenue. The incident is being investigated as a antisemitic hate crime.
Hatzalah treated the Bochur at the scene and transported him to Bellevue Hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition.
The suspect has not been reported arrested, and the investigation is ongoing.
