Moments Before Taking Office: New York City Comptroller Lays Tefillin
Newly elected New York City Comptroller, Mark Levine, had the opportunity to lay tefillin and recite Shema with local Lubavitchers moments before officially taking office. The ceremony took place on the steps of City Hall, in the presence of city officials and residents. Chabad representatives from Crown Heights also attended, expressing hope for fair and positive treatment of the Jewish community in New York.
