Josh Aronson, the Jewish affairs and Diaspora correspondent for Maariv – one of Israel’s leading daily newspapers – visited the newly opened Chabad House in Jurmala, Latvia, during his recent trip to the country. He was welcomed by the Rebbe’s Shliach, Rabbi Mendy Zilbershtrum, who gave him a tour of the new center located on the city’s main pedestrian promenade.
During the visit, Aronson learned about the wide range of activities and services the Chabad House provides for local Jews and the many Jewish tourists who visit the popular Baltic resort city each year. He also heard about the continued growth of Chabad’s presence in Latvia and the impact of the new center on the local community.
Reflecting on the visit, Aronson praised the work of the Shluchim, saying, “Wherever I travel, it’s a must to see the incredible work of the Rebbe’s Shluchim and the remarkable impact they are making.” Photos from the visit capture the warm meeting with the Shliach.
