Leading Poskim have instructed the public to boycott the ANU Museum of the Jewish People, formerly known as Beit Hatfutsot. They issued a Kol Koreh proclamation on the matter after Yad L’Achim’s demand that the museum remove an exhibit that normalizes intermarriage was ignored.

The Kol Koreh, stating that “no one should dare to set foot in the ANU Museum or even approach it for any reason,” was signed by the following poskim, dayanim and rabbanim (in alphabetical order):

    Hagaon Harav Masoud ben Shimon,
    Hagaon Harav Moshe Bransdorfer,
    Hagaon Harav Shammai Kehas Gross,
    Hagaon Harav Menachem Mendel Lubin,
    Hagaon Harav Naftali Nussbaum,
    Hagaon Harav Moshe Shaul Klein,
    Hagaon Harav Sariel Rosenberg,
    Hagaon Harav Yaakov Meir Stern,
    Hagaon Harav Shmuel Eliezer Stern
    and Hagaon Harav Chaim Shmerler.

The Kol Koreh further states: “Reliable information has reached us from the heads of Yad L’Achim – who have been at the forefront of the battle against cults, often at risk to their lives – as to exhibits at the ANU museum in Tel Aviv. These openly call for recognition of mixed marriages, R”L, and other terrible things that are difficult to even talk about.

“It has also come to our attention that Yad L’Achim tried on numerous occasions to persuade the museum’s management to remove the exhibit, and to our great sorrow the request fell on deaf ears. Woe to us that such a thing is occurring now, when our people are so in need of a great Yeshua.

“Therefore, we hereby warn all, great and small, from across the spectrum of faithful Judaism, that it is forbidden to set in the ANU museum or approach it for any reason. Our Sages have said that it is worse to cause one to sin than to kill him.”

The Kol Koreh concludes with a tefillah that “Hashem in His mercy will remove sins from the land, sins and not sinners, and will cause them to return to goodness, and soon we will have a Yeshua.”

Yad L’Achim officials revealed that the Gedolim were shocked to hear the details of their struggle against the museum’s officials and the way in which their concerns were dismissed.

Despite the setback, Yad L’Achim officials said they would “continue to use all the legitimate tools at our disposal until the display is removed. It is inconceivable that an institution that enjoys state recognition and funding would inflict such a fatal blow to the Jewish character and identity.

“The entire world is struggling against the scourge of assimilation, while here in Tel Aviv a sword is being thrust into Jewish identity. We will not give up on this struggle until we achieve victory for the Jewish people.”
