The second week of IDF Operation “Roaring Lion” saw the launch of a defensive campaign by Yad L’Achim aimed at preventing missionary groups from taking advantage of the war to spread their spiritual poison.

Citizens who have been shaken by weeks of alarms and mad dashes to bomb shelters are vulnerable to cults offering calm and tranquility laced with missionary messages.

Yad L’Achim branches around the country are stepping forward with support and encouragement. Its activists point to the open miracles and Divine providence that we have merited to see and warn unsuspecting Jews of the threats posed by missionaries, especially in these trying days.

Yad L’Achim notes with pride that on Purim, days after war broke out, its mentors were visiting the homes of survivors of the cults with invested mishloach manos, bringing them joy and a sense of belonging to the Jewish people.

For many of the recipients, this was their first Purim since being released from the grasp of missionaries or from Arab villages, where they were  born and raised.

Meanwhile, trips to Mekomos Hakedoshim had to be cancelled at the instruction of the Home Front Command. Instead, Yad L’Achim launched its pre-Pesach operation, delivering mehudar matzos to the homes of those rescued from missionaries and Arab villages in recent months.

In addition to matzos, the Pesach packages included Haggados for the entire family, Jewish educational materials, and food products to enhance the experience of those returning to our people on the Jewish year’s most special night.

“We hope and pray that this war will end quickly with the total defeat of our enemy, but have no way of knowing how long it will last,” a Yad L’Achim official said.

“Therefore, we can’t afford to postpone our intense preparations for Pesach. The responses we’ve received to our packages have been heartwarming. Amid this period of warnings and sirens, the atmosphere of Pesach, the holiday of freedom, has already entered many hundreds of homes, bringing joy and comfort to young and old.”
