Fire Breaks Out in Kvutza Dormitory Building on Eastern Parkway
A fire broke out Tuesday afternoon at 755 Eastern Parkway — across the street from 770 and adjacent to the original 770 dormitory – 749 Eastern Parkway. The four-story building, owned by ‘Igud Talmidei HaKvutza’ is used to house Kvutza Bochurim studying at the Central Chabad Yeshiva, caught fire around 2:30 p.m. • Read More, Photos, Watch
Flames and heavy smoke were seen coming from the third floor as 10 fire trucks arrived on the scene and worked quickly to bring the blaze under control. The building was evacuated safely, and Baruch Hashem, no injuries were reported.
According to reports, the apartment where the fire began is privately rented and not part of the student dormitory itself.
Igud Talmidei HaKvutza stated that if any rooms are closed due to damage, alternative accommodations will be arranged for the affected bochurim.
