This year as well, the Yissachar–Zevulun program opened with exceptional strength. From the very start of the Kvutza year, the preparation was evident: each Bochur selected one learning track and began his studies with seriousness and dedication.
The monthly exam revealed the impressive scope of participation: the dining hall, which in previous years accommodated all the test-takers, was completely filled, leaving no empty space. A second testing area was therefore opened in the Eshel building for all participants in the Halacha track. Together, both locations saw a level of crowding never seen before, with long rows of Bochurim diligently working through the test papers, investing effort and precision into every detail.
At the end of the week, the monthly scholarship distribution took place at 770. Hundreds of Bochurim received personal checks in recognition of their efforts—without any raffle and without additional conditions. Anyone who toiled and learned throughout the month walked away with a respectable scholarship, with total distributions reaching tens of thousands of dollars.
So what exactly is Yissachar–Zevulun?
The Yissachar–Zevulun program is designed to enable Bochurim to learn with calm focus and steady diligence. Each participant chooses one learning track, is tested at the end of the month, and is eligible for a scholarship of up to $170. The program is supported by a team of expert reviewers and well-prepared review booklets that make the material accessible to every learner.
This year’s learning tracks are:
-
Halacha Track – The Alter Rebbe’s Shulchan Aruch, Volume 1
-
Hilchos Shabbos Track – The Alter Rebbe’s Shulchan Aruch, Volume 2
-
Geula U’Moshiach Track – Likkutei Sichos on Geula and Moshiach, arranged by topic
-
Chassidus Track – Hemshech Samach Vov
-
Girsah Track – Gemara Maseches Bava Kama and Makkos
The program continues to gain momentum, and Igud Talmidei HaKvutza is already looking ahead to next month—anticipating the continued upward trend in diligence and learning.
