The new school year has begun, and students of Chabad Yeshivos around the world will study during the upcoming year Masechta Gittin, which deals with the laws of divorce according to Jewish law.
In line with the Rebbe’s directive, that the study of Gemara should include also the explanations of the Chabad Rebbeim, renowned Mashpia Rabbi Aharon Leib Raskin, who also serves as the chief editor of the Rebbe Rayatz’s books, compiled an index to all the Sichos and Ma’amarim of the Rebbeim which explain topics in the Masechta, both explanations of the simple meaning of the Gemara, and explanations according to Chassidus.
This index is the first in a series which will encompass the whole Babylonian Talmud (Shas).
Rabbi Levi Raskin, HaTomim Levi Dinari and HaTomim Mendy Springer assisted Rabbi Raskin in his project.
As an example, the topic of adhering to the laws of the country, “Dina D’Malchusa Dina,” which is discussed in Gittin 10b, the index lists a selection which covers all types of sources:
Halacha: The Alter Rebbe Shulchan Aruch. Tzemach Tzedek’s responsa.
Chassidus: Likutei Torah, Ma’amarim of the Alter Rebbe. Sichos from the Frierdiker Rebbe and the Rebbe.
Kabbalah: Mitteler Rebbe’s explanations on Zohar.
Moshiach: Sichos from the Rebbe.
