Helping families build a steadier financial future was the focus of a gathering for the Ozer Vetomech fund serving the Chabad community in Beitar Illit.
Business owners, institution directors and community supporters met at Nevo Winery in Moshav Mata, near the city, to hear about the fund’s work and its plans for the year ahead.
Rabbi Shmaryahu Butman opened the evening with words of Torah and bracha. Fund director Boaz Beck reviewed its activities and described the goal of reaching more people, helping families recover financially and enabling those who receive support to become partners in helping others.
Binyamin Brokis presented a new service to help community members understand and claim government benefits for which they qualify. Another fund director, Gershon Factor, spoke about the role of committed partners in making the work possible.
Rabbi Avraham Lichtenstein of the Ohev Yisroel community and Rabbi Binyamin Lerer of the Chabad community on Zvehill Street addressed the gathering, drawing on Torah and Chassidus to discuss the importance of tzedakah.
The organizers described a program that goes beyond immediate relief. Their plans include financial education in community shuls and ongoing guidance for families who need help building long-term stability.
Participants signed a year-long partnership commitment at the close of the evening. Keyboardist Itzik Lifshitz provided the musical accompaniment.
