United Airlines is preparing to resume nonstop service between Newark Liberty International Airport and Ben Gurion Airport, with flights scheduled to restart on September 8. The airline said it plans to operate two daily flights on the route, restoring a major nonstop connection between the New York area and Israel.
The resumption comes after United suspended its Tel Aviv service amid the war with Iran and the resulting security concerns.
The airline has said that its decision to resume operations is based on a detailed assessment of operational conditions and coordination with relevant authorities and its crews.
The Newark–Tel Aviv route is particularly significant for travelers in the New York and New Jersey area, as Newark serves as United’s major hub in the region. United currently lists Newark/New York–Tel Aviv flights for booking on its website.
United’s planned return will once again provide travelers with a direct U.S.–Israel option from the New York area, alongside El Al and other carriers operating flights to Ben Gurion. The airline cautions that schedules remain subject to operational and security considerations.
