The President of Ukraine, Mr. Volodymyr Zelensky invited all the Rabbis of the country to his office for a historic meeting in honor of the upcoming Jewish new year.
The meeting was attended by: Rabbi Shmuel Kaminetzky, Rabbi Moshe Asman, Rabbi Yaakov Dov Bleich, Rabbi Dov Axelrod, Rabbi Sholom Gotleib, Rabbi Avrohom Wolf, Rabbi Moshe Moscowitz, Rabbi Yonasan Markowitz, Rabbi Meir Stambler and rabbi Raphael Rutman.
The Shofar was sounded by Rabbi Raphael Rutman.
The President opened his remarks with a message for all Jews wishing them a new year and proceeded to explain the Shluchim that due to virus concerns, the country will restrict the amount of people coming to the Kever of R’ Nachman of Breslov this year and they should pass on the message.
A number of Shluchim spoke about the importance of living your life according to Torah, specifically, the importance of keeping the Passuk “V’Nishmartem Meod L’Nafshosechem”.
After more important matters were discussed, the President picked up the Tehillim gifted to him by Rabbi stambler and said “Hopefully, this book will help us”.
