Approximately eight million euros were invested in establishing the new yeshiva ketanah, which is set to open for the upcoming academic year beginning Rosh Chodesh Elul. Registration for incoming first-year students is already nearing capacity.
The founder of the yeshiva, Rabbi Shmuel Asman, told Chabadinfo that “all conditions have been created at the highest possible standard, in order to provide ‘temimim’ who seek it with the full infrastructure needed to immerse themselves and thrive in Torah study.”
The dedication event, held on Rosh Chodesh Sivan, drew many shluchim, friends, and supporters who traveled from across Ukraine and Europe to participate in the celebration of the new educational institution. The attendees came to express support for the significant investment in what is described as a pioneering educational initiative, designed with careful attention to every detail of the students’ daily life and learning environment.
Guests were welcomed by Rabbi Shmuel Asman, who has worked for years on establishing the institution from its foundation, together with leading educational professionals and renowned architects. Together, they developed a large, modern campus designed to provide optimal conditions for temimim to engage in both Nigleh and Chassidus, in accordance with the Rebbe’s vision and for his nachas.
Participants were moved to learn that the cornerstone of the campus was laid only three days after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. Despite the circumstances, construction advanced steadily and with determination, supported by a generous donor who requested anonymity and expressed confidence in the project’s future success. According to him, the yeshiva would soon become a vibrant center of Torah and Chassidus in Anatevka, with students learning in an environment intentionally separated from external distractions.
Every part of the campus was built with extensive investment and planning, taking into account the needs of each student in detail.
During the event, the Rebbe’s kapitel Tehillim was recited by Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Kaplan, an educational figure who in recent years relocated from Jerusalem to Anatevka to head the yeshiva’s spiritual staff.
Enrollment has recently opened and is expected to close shortly, with a clear selection focus on students who are committed to full-time, serious Torah study. The campus includes a large zal, spacious dormitory facilities with private bathrooms and showers in each room, individual study areas, a well-equipped dining hall with an industrial kitchen, an advanced mikvah complex located beneath the building, laundry facilities, and additional recreational and learning spaces.
The expansive campus also includes outdoor walking areas for reflection and relaxation, open-air courtyards for study, seating areas for group and individual learning, and panoramic natural views. The facility also contains an emergency underground shelter designed to accommodate up to one hundred people.
Rabbi Asman noted at the event: “A bochur who wants to learn will have no excuse not to do so. Here, with the level of investment and infrastructure provided, there is nothing that can justify missing even a moment of Torah study.”
The prestigious event was honored by the personal participation of: Rabbi Moshe Asman, Shliach of the Rebbe and Chief Rabbi of Ukraine; Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Asman, one of the Rebbe’s Shluchim in Cyprus; Rabbi Moshe Axelrod, Shliach of the Rebbe and Chief Rabbi of Moldova; Rabbi Eliyahu Bidichi, one of the Rebbe’s Shluchim in Kyiv and a leading educational figure on the yeshiva staff; Rabbi Yair Beitch, one of the Rebbe’s Shluchim in Cyprus; Rabbi Avraham Bleich, head of the Podol community in Kyiv; Rabbi Shalom Gopin, Shliach of the Rebbe to the Luhansk community in Kyiv; Rabbi Yitzchak Gruzman, Shliach of the Rebbe and chairman of Chabad institutions in Rishon LeZion; Rabbi Shaul Horowitz, Shliach of the Rebbe and Chief Rabbi of Vinnytsia; Rabbi Avraham Wolff, Shliach of the Rebbe and Chief Rabbi of Odessa and southwest Ukraine; Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Wolff, Shliach of the Rebbe and Chief Rabbi of Kherson; Rabbi Shneor Vigler, Shliach of the Rebbe and director of the Jewish community in Odessa; Rabbi Sendi Wilschanski, director of “Beis Rivkah” in Milan, Italy; Rabbi Levi Adraei, representative of the Federation of Jewish Communities in the Holy Land; Rabbi Yitzchak Levental, Shliach of the Rebbe to Denmark; Rabbi Mordechai Lebenheart, one of the Rebbe’s emissaries in Kyiv; Rabbi Baruch Mendelson, one of the Rebbe’s emissaries in Kyiv; Rabbi David Nachshon, chairman of Chabad mobile units and the youth movement “Tzivos Hashem” in the Holy Land; Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Nachshon, one of the Rebbe’s Shluchim in Dnipro; Rabbi Nachum Tamarin, one of the Rebbe’s emissaries to Zhytomyr and CEO of the Union of Jewish Communities in Western Ukraine; and others.
