National Security Minister and Otzma Yehudit Chairman Itamar Ben Gvir, together with Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu and senior Northern District police officials, met with Mayor R’ Yossi Kakon and municipal leaders to discuss security matters in the city.
During the meeting, Minister Ben Gvir declared that Tzfas is now officially recognized as a city eligible for obtaining personal firearms under eased criteria.
Among the participants were Chabad representatives in the municipality, including Deputy Mayor Rabbi Shneor Lipsker, City Council member and head of the Welfare Department Rabbi Yoram Ma’uda, Chief of Staff to the Mayor R’ Aryeh Nissilovitz, and other senior city officials.
The announcement has significant implications for many members of the Chabad community living in Tzfas, who will now be able to apply more easily for personal firearms licenses for purposes of security and saving lives.
