Tzama Releases New Songs Featuring Avraham Fried, Daniel Weiss and Raviv Kaner

In honor of Chai Elul, the birthdays of the Baal Shem Tov and the Alter Rebbe, Tzama has released a special three-song EP featuring Daniel Weiss, Avraham Fried and Raviv Kaner, with musical arrangement and production by Naor Carmi. The songs, released during the month of Elul, feature heartfelt Chassidic nigunim and melodies connected to the days of Selichos and the Yomim Noraim • Read More, Listen

The EP opens with “Kol B’Ya’ar,” an ancient Chassidic nigun attributed to the Shpoler Zeide, performed by Daniel Weiss, son of Shmulik and Yehudit Weiss HY”D. The nigun expresses deep longing for a return to the Father, taking on an especially personal meaning for Weiss as he connects the song to the memory of his parents and his own journey.

The second track, “HaNeshama Yoredet,” is a live performance by Avraham Fried from Tzama 5786, reflecting on the soul’s descent into the physical world and the purpose found within its struggles.

The EP concludes with “Areshet S’faseinu,” a traditional melody associated with the shaliach tzibbur in Lubavitch following the shofar blasts on Rosh Hashanah, performed here by Raviv Kaner as a prayer that all our tefillos be heard and accepted.

Editor’s Note: The recordings featured here are contemporary performances of the nigunim and should not be mistaken for authoritative or historically accurate renditions of the original melodies.
