On Thursday, Israeli forces conducted a precision airstrike in Sanaa, Yemen, targeting senior Houthi leaders. Reports indicate that Prime Minister Ahmad al-Rahawi was killed, along with multiple cabinet members, including the Foreign Minister, Justice Minister, Welfare and Labor Minister, and the Minister of Youth and Sports, as well as the government secretary, Deputy Interior Minister, and two deputies of the slain Prime Minister.
The fate of Houthi military chief Al-‘Omari and Defense Minister Muhammad Nasser al-‘Atfi is still unconfirmed, though Israeli assessments suggest they may have been targeted as well.
The Houthis acknowledged the strike but stated that government operations would continue, telling citizens that the administration would carry on with its services.
According to Israeli defense sources, the strike was guided by intelligence from the Israeli Air Force and military intelligence, targeting the Houthi military leadership gathered for a routine briefing. The operation eliminated key figures responsible for planning terror operations and coordinating propaganda campaigns against Israel.
The IDF confirmed that the strike targeted dozens of senior Houthi officials and emphasized that operations will continue to neutralize threats to Israeli civilians, including ongoing operations in Gaza and other fronts.
