Rabbis, Chabad shluchim, and Jewish communal leaders from Muslim countries participated in a historic conference at the European Parliament in Brussels, where they met with senior European Union officials to discuss the challenges facing Jewish communities and efforts to strengthen religious freedom.
The conference was led by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Chitrik, Chairman of the Alliance of Rabbis in Islamic States.
Among the participants were Chief Rabbi of Iran Rabbi Yehuda Gerami, Rabbi Yeshaya Cohen, the Rebbe’s shliach to Kazakhstan, Rabbi Aryeh Reichman, the Rebbe’s shliach to Kyrgyzstan, Rabbi Yisrael Ozen, the Rebbe’s shliach to Nigeria, Rabbi Yoel Kaplan, the Rebbe’s shliach to Albania, Rabbi Shneur Segal, the Rebbe’s shliach to Azerbaijan, together with additional rabbis and shluchim serving Jewish communities throughout the Muslim world.
During the meetings, the Rabbonim discussed the current realities facing Jewish communities in Muslim-majority countries, emphasizing the importance of protecting religious freedom, strengthening Jewish communal life, and deepening cooperation between European institutions and Jewish leaders.
The gathering highlighted the growing role of Chabad Shluchim and Jewish leaders across the Muslim world, who continue to support and strengthen Jewish life under a wide range of circumstances while fostering dialogue with government officials and international organizations.
