Purim Joy for Over 5,000 IDF Soldiers Amid Wartime Conditions

Despite challenging security conditions, the organization “Komemiut Darom”, run by Talmidim from Yeshivas Chasidei Chabad Lubavitch Tzfas, set a new record this year, reaching over 5,000 soldiers across dozens of strategic bases • Read More, Photos

Even under the strain of wartime operations, the Bachurim, led by Yosef Yitzchak Chanuka, Eitan Sinai, and Yosef Yitzchak Shehu, coordinated the large-scale Purim campaign with precision and dedication. They were supported throughout by the yeshiva staff, in line with the Rebbe’s guidance to bring joy to soldiers and civilians alike.

A Historic Reach: From Erez to Tze’elim

During Purim, the Bachurim visited more than 50 bases and posts. Their journey extended from the frontlines at Erez Crossing, through Brigade 98 and Gaza’s periphery, to division and battalion bases across the field and training centers. Soldiers from Givati, Golani, and Armored Corps units, as well as the Shomron Camp, Battalion 101, MLI Vehicle Company 500, Battalion 890, and dozens of other units, all received a generous dose of Chassidishe joy.

Grilling on the Frontline: Bringing Joy Into the Field

At every location, the Talmidim were met with overwhelming enthusiasm. Soldiers enjoyed specially prepared Mishloach Manos, drinks, sweets, and a wide variety of treats. The centerpiece of the celebration, however, was the large outdoor barbecues. The aroma of grilled meat, combined with Chassidic songs, filled the air, and soldiers paused from operational duties to dance, rejoice, and listen to the Megillah reading.

Acknowledging the Partners in the Holy Mission

The organizers expressed deep gratitude to those who made the operation possible:

    • Rabbi Niselevitz, for providing a comfortable lodging facility for the Talmidim free of charge.

    • The Ben Kish Family, for their warm hospitality during a festive Purim meal immediately after the fast, with wishes for double blessings from Hashem.

    • Shluchim and Anash, for hundreds of community members who supported and helped facilitate the vital operation.

    The Dedicated Team

A special note of thanks was given to the team of drivers who worked tirelessly in all conditions—rain, wind, and fasting hours—to transport the Bachurim to their Shlichus.

In closing, “Komemiut Darom” emphasized the purpose of the Mivtzoim: preparing the world for the imminent arrival of Moshiach, the Rebbe, who will redeem us immediately, b’ezras Hashem and rebuild the Beis Hamikdash.
