In a festive and emotional ceremony, the third floor of the dormitory building at Yeshivas Chasidei Chabad Lubavitch Tzfas was inaugurated this week, marking another milestone in the Yeshiva’s ongoing expansion. Distinguished donors whose generosity made the project possible joined Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Meir Wilschanski and the Hanhala to celebrate the opening of the new floor for the benefit of the many Talmidei HaTemimim.
The dormitory, known as the ‘Rakefet’, underwent a comprehensive renovation, with the third floor rebuilt entirely to high standards of comfort and quality. The expansion adds dozens of spacious new rooms, directly addressing the tremendous growth of the Yeshiva, the largest Chabad Yeshiva Gedolah in the world.
The event began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by members of the Hanhala, followed by the Kevias Mezuzah at the entrance to the new floor, performed by Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Levkivker, one of the Roshei Yeshiva.
A celebratory reception and Seudah followed in an uplifting Chassidishe atmosphere. Rabbanim of the Yeshiva spoke, reflecting on the remarkable growth of the Mosad and emphasizing how the generosity of the donors provides renewed strength to continue expanding both in Gashmiyus and Ruchniyus.
In his address, Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Meir Wilschanski highlighted the essential connection between investing in the Bochurim’s Ruchniyus and ensuring their physical comfort at the highest standards. He dedicated the occasion to the memory of his father, the founder of the Mosdos and longtime Rosh HaYeshiva, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Wilschanski A”H, noting that the new floor continues his vision of raising generations of Temimim with true Harchava in both Gashmiyus and Ruchniyus.
The highlight of the event was a tour of the new floor, where guests viewed the newly designed and fully furnished rooms. Each donor had the opportunity to unveil a dedication plaque outside the room they sponsored, symbolizing their partnership in the Torah, Mivtzoim, and Tefillos of the Temimim who will reside there.
The program concluded with Mincha, followed by the most moving moment of all, as dozens of Bochurim immediately moved into the new rooms. The floor was filled at once, enabling the Temimim to continue their Limud HaTorah with Menuchas HaNefesh and true Yishuv HaDaas.
The Hanhala noted that this is only the beginning of a broader renewal initiative, with renovation work on the second floor set to begin shortly, alongside continued development throughout the dormitory complex.
