A remarkable piece of history, preserved for 50 years, is being released to the public for the first time.
This newly discovered footage, preserved in a private Crown Heights home, captures the Rebbe Melech Hamoshiach on 23 Menachem Av 5736 (1976), walking through 770 and distributing dollars for tzedakah to “outstanding” IDF soldiers – as the Rebbe referred to the wounded soldiers in this special Yechidus.
Until today, this historic moment was known only through photographs. Now, for the first time, we can see the scene unfold on video—offering a rare glimpse of the Rebbe שליט”א Melech Hamoshiach’s interaction with the soldiers and bringing this historic moment to life.
The footage was carefully digitized and preserved before being released by “Hamachon Lehafotzas Toraso Shel Moshiach”, as part of its mission to preserve, prepare, and share precious materials connected with the Rebbe, making them accessible to Chassidim and people around the world.
Every additional moment of the Rebbe Melech Hamoshiach that is preserved is a priceless treasure. This historic footage is a reminder that precious photographs, tapes, and recordings may still be sitting in private collections, waiting to be discovered and preserved to quench the thirst of Chasidim and Yidden worldwide.
