Israeli Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Yoav Bistritsky, traveled from Astana for a special visit to the Jewish community in Almaty.
During the visit, the ambassador met with the Rebbe’s Shliach, Rabbi Mordechai Cohen, along with the chairman of the local Jewish community. He learned about the extensive Jewish activities taking place throughout Kazakhstan, including educational institutions, shuls, and the continued growth of community life across the country.
As part of his visit, Ambassador Bistritsky visited the Ohel of Rabbi Levi Yitzchok Schneerson, the Rebbe’s father, in Almaty. At the Ohel, he offered special prayers for the safety of the Jews of Eretz Yisroel, the success of the IDF and security forces, and the security and well-being of the Jewish people.
The visit highlighted the strong connection between Israel and the Jewish community in Kazakhstan, as well as the continued importance of the historic site that draws visitors from around the world to pray at the Ohel of the Rebbe’s father.
