The Rabbinical Alliance of America – Igud HaRabbonim hosted at special reception honoring the Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel, the Rishon Le’Zion, HaGaon Harav Yitzchak Yosef, Shlit’a Monday, July 18, 2016, at the Synagogue of Deal in Deal, NJ.

At the reception, the RAA/Igud leadership reiterated its long-standing relationship and support of the office of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel and its current Chief Rabbis Yitzchak Yosef and David Lau.

The RAA unequivocally and in the strongest terms possible – emphasized the need to strengthen the institution of the Chief Rabbinate in light of the many challenges to its authority emanating from secularists and the non-Torah observant liberal streams seeking to eliminate its authority as the governing body for all matters pertaining to Judaism.

Member of the RAA Presidium Rabbi Yehoshua S. Hecht confirmed that the RAA stands with the Chief Rabbinate in keeping the long-established Western Wall prayer area free from non-Torah observant innovations and the Chief Rabbinates efforts to maintain the standard of conversions to Judaism (GIYUR KEHALACHA) as codified for millennia in Halacha and Torah.

In attendance and participating in the program was the Presidium of the RAA consisting of Rabbi Hanania Elbaz, Brooklyn, NY, who served as reception chairman; Rabbi Yehoshua Hecht, Norwalk CT; Rabbi Yaakov Klass, Brooklyn NY; Rabbi Yaakov Spivak, Monsey NY; as well as the Honorary President of the RAA, Rabbi Shmaryahu Shulman, Brooklyn, NY; the Rosh Beth Din of the RAA/IGUD Beth Din, Rabbi Dov Aaron Brisman, Elkins Park PA; the RAA Director, Rabbi Mendy Mirocznik, Staten Island NY. Also in attendance were Rabbi Isaac Leizerowski, Philadelphia, PA; Rabbi Yechiel Malik, Rabbi Chaim Szmidt, both of Brooklyn, NY and Rabbi Aharon Zeev, Staten Island, NY.

The Rabbinical Alliance of America, a National Rabbinic Organization was founded in 1942 with the mission to preserve and promote authentic Torah true Judaism in North America. The RAA membership consists of 850 Rabbis serving throughout the United States, Canada and overseas.
