The IDF carried out a targeted airstrike Sunday afternoon against Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure in the Dahiyeh district of Beirut, following a series of Hezbollah drone attacks launched toward northern Israel earlier in the day.
According to the IDF, the strike targeted a Hezbollah command center used to advance terror operations against Israeli civilians and IDF forces operating in southern Lebanon.
The attack reportedly eliminated Hezbollah’s communications unit commander.
The military stated that Hezbollah continues to promote terrorist activity against Israel and emphasized that the IDF will continue acting to remove threats to Israeli citizens and security forces, in accordance with directives from Israel’s leadership.
Following the strike, Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters issued a warning that the “crimes of the Zionist entity in Dahiyeh will not go unanswered,” raising concerns over a possible escalation in the region.
Earlier Sunday, three Hezbollah drones crossed into Israeli territory from Lebanon. Two exploded near Shlomi in the Western Galilee, while another detonated in a military area inside Israel. The IDF reported that all of the drones fell in military zones near the border and not in civilian communities.
Baruch Hashem, no injuries were reported.
The latest strike comes amid heightened tensions following last week’s Israeli operation in Beirut, which was followed by an Iranian missile attack involving approximately 23 missiles fired at Israel. In a series of open miracles, the vast majority were intercepted or fell in open areas, preventing widespread casualties, while the Israeli Air Force later responded with two waves of strikes against military targets in Iran.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz reiterated last week that any attack on communities in northern Israel would be met with a forceful response in Dahiyeh, Hezbollah’s primary stronghold in Beirut.
