    Hundreds at 19 Kislev Melave Malka in Boro Park

    Hundreds gathered in Boro Park to mark the 25th annual melave malka in honor of the auspicious day of 19 Kislev, hosted by Heichal Menachem of Boro Park, which was founded and is led by Rabbi Leibel Altein. At the event were Jews from a variety of communities, who came together to honor the Alter Rebbe and the study of Chassidus Chabad.

    The event was mc’d by Rabbi Shlomo Sternberg, who made strong mention of the Alter Rebbe’s mesirus nefesh to bring the teachings of Chassidus to the greater Jewish world. He went on to praise the vital work of Heichal Menachem and encouraged those gathered to participate in its initiatives.

    Rabbi Altein, the organization’s founder and director, made mention of the passing of R’ Yoel Kahn, who gave twice weekly classes at Heichal Menachem and was a vital part of its initiatives. R’ Yoel spoke at the event every year.

    Rabbi Sternberg thanked the organization’s sponsors, including Rabbi Yeshaya Boymelgreen for the Boymelgreen edition of Chassidus Mevueres Tanya and Rabbi Sholom Ber Drizin and family for their yearly sponsoring of the Melave Malka.

    Others, such as Rabbi Fishel Oster, spoke about the importance of learning Chassidus.

    The evening’s keynote address was delivered by Rabbi Chaim Yitzchak Isaac Landau, Rov of Bnei Brak, who emphasized the importance of the day and the impact learning Chassidus has on Yidden.

    Chassidishe nigunim were led by Yossi Cohen and the Kapelle Choir, elevating the atmosphere.

    Following benching, a large crowd remained with Rabbi Landau to farbreng into the night.
