30 Years of Chabad Berlin: 4,000 Attend Celebrations
Approximately 4,000 people filled the Jewish Campus in Berlin for celebrations marking 30 years of Chabad activity in the German capital, organized by the Rebbe Melech HaMoshiach’s Shliach, Rabbi Yehuda Teichtel. The festive event took the form of a lively street festival, bringing together thousands of Jews, community members and visitors from across the city, alongside public officials and diplomats. Approximately 4,000 people filled the Jewish Campus in Berlin as part of the celebrations marking three decades of Chabad activity in the German capital.
The festive event was held as a lively street festival, bringing together thousands of Jews, members of the local community and visitors from throughout the city, alongside public officials and diplomats. The mayor and Israel’s ambassador to Germany also joined the large celebration.
During the event, Berlin Chief Rabbi and the Rebbe’s Shliach to Berlin, Rabbi Yehuda Teichtel, together with Shluchim Rabbi Shmuel Segal and Rabbi Dovid Teichtel, presented plans for the construction of a new central Shul in the city. The project is expected to be a significant addition to the continued growth and development of Berlin’s Jewish community.
A moving ceremony was also held to begin writing a new Sefer Torah, with participants given the opportunity to take part in writing its first letters.
The impressive event concluded special celebrations marking three decades of Chabad activity in Berlin. What began 30 years ago has since developed into an extensive network of Torah, education and Jewish institutions throughout the city, serving thousands of Jews and visitors.
