Although on most fast days, the Rebbe said a Sicha as Divrei Kivushin, on Tisha B’Av the Rebbe didn’t. Tisha B’Av 5751 was one exception.

Experts from the Yuman published by Fax-A-Sicha (translated):

At around 8:35, The Rebbe suddenly came out of his room, without any Mazkirim, and approached the elevator, The Rebbe then checked the window of the elevator to see if it was on that floor, straightaway, a bochur pressed the button for it to come up. The Rebbe entered the elevator, in the meantime the Mazkirim came, and entered with him. when the Rebbe arrived downstairs, he told Rabbi Groner, “איך וועל זאגן אפאר ווערטער, דערפאר האב איך אראפ פריער (I will speak a couple of words, that is why I left earlier)”

In the meantime, everyone crowded downstairs. and Rabbi Groner and Rabbi Meir Harlig setup the Rebbe’s Shtender which was already setup for Maariv, for the Sicha. After it was ready the Rebbe approached The Shtender and started the Sicha which lasted around 17 minutes after which The Rebbe distributed dollars.

Another Chidush of that year was after Ma’ariv: At the conclusion of dollars, The Rebbe inserted 2 dollars in his Siddur, then washed his hands for Maariv, and went onto the bimah.

At the end of Maariv the gabbai announced the Siyumim, and a Seudah which will take place immediately after Maariv, The Rebbe corrected “בשעתו”.

After the one who made Havdalah, finished saying a Brocho Achrono, The Rebbe loudly started the Hakofos Niggun of his father, Harav Levi Yitzchok, and was very strongly Meoded the singing and dancing continued long after The Rebbe left Shul. Only afterwards did the Chasidim break their fast.
