Comprised of three different vendors, the boys get amazing prices on Yiddish story books, chabad seforim and Hebrew Chassidishe Chabad tales. as they arrived proudly in the morning with their money, they were greeted with a surprise.
The principal Rabbi Menachem Mendel Yusewitz greeted them as usual, then he addressed the boys regarding the unique day, and then introduced Rabbi Sholom Ber Schapiro who graciously sponsored and presented the talmidim with a special Sefer, “From Day to Day”, – An encyclopedia for the young scholar.
Rabbi Yusewitz gave the students the background of this Sefer and it’s importance: This unique Sefer, includes a tremendous amount of Yedios Kloliyos handpicked by our Rebbe. The Rebbe was personally involved in its preparation together with Rabbi Schapiro’s father-in-law Rabbi Nissan Mindel. The Sefer was printed in English by Kehos for children, under the auspices of the Friediker Rebbe.
In the recent years, Rabbi Mindel’s son-in-law, Rabbi Sholom Ber Schapiro translated the sefer to Hebrew and republished it.
The Melamdim received books as well, and will be incorporating parts in their Yedios Kloliyos. Rabbi Zalman Goldstien thanked Rabbi Schapiro for his efforts.”As this Yom tov comes to a close, it was a most proper time for the talmidim to receive this sefer.” The Talmidim happily went to their classrooms starting this special day with renewed enthusiasm, inspired with the powerful impression from this auspicious day, .
Later on in the day, the lounchroom was bostlihg with excitment as each class took their turn to come by to buy their new seforim – broadening their Mikdash Me’at library. The boys began the new ‘Post Hey Teves week’ on a high note, with a strong commitment to learn in them and use them for years to come.
