Students in Crown Heights’ Cheder Ohr Menachem marked the auspicious day of Yud Shevat in school with a day packed full of commemorations. The boys started the day off by learning about how to write panim, subsequently writing their own. In the afternoon, each class gathered for a special seuda and farbrengen to mark the special. Ohr Menachem boys could also be seen in the front of 770 near the Rebbe’s place, receiving special permission to attend the Rebbe’s minyan Mincha at 3:15 • Photos, Video
Crown Heights’ Cheder Ohr Menachem has initiated a new hands-on arts program for their students from first through seventh grade. According to a recent letter from Rabbi Mendel Yusewitz, the cheder is “committed to develop special and healthy experiences of art and creativity, as well as training the boys to use their talents” • Full Story, Photos, Video
Crown Heights’ Cheder Ohr Menachem launched their yearly mivtza in preparation for the auspicious day of Yud Shvat at a school-wide assembly yesterday, 10 Teves, exactly 30 days before the great day. The main part of the mivtza is to memorize Maamar Basi L’Gani by heart. The mivtza includes various other parts, including an incentive for boys to make their bedrooms ‘Tzivos Hashem rooms’, as per the Rebbe MH”M’s request.
