Staff Sgt. Adam Tzarfati, HY”D, 20, of Rosh HaAyin, a fighter in the elite Maglan Unit of the Commando Brigade, was killed overnight during operations in southern Lebanon.

According to the IDF, the incident occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m. in the village of Yohmor, near the Beaufort Castle area. An explosive drone struck a force operating in the area, killing Tzarfati and wounding three additional soldiers. One soldier sustained serious injuries, while two others were lightly wounded. The injured were evacuated for medical treatment and their families were notified.
Tzarfati is the 14th Israeli fatality since the Lebanon ceasefire took effect.
Rosh HaAyin Mayor Raz Sagi mourned his loss, saying, “The entire city of Rosh HaAyin grieves and mourns Adam’s fall. Adam was among the finest of our city’s sons—a son, friend, and courageous fighter who grew up here, was educated here, and went out to defend us all.”
Just hours later, the IDF announced the death of Capt. Dr. Uri Yosef Sylvester, HY”D, 30, of Tel Aviv, the battalion physician of the Shaked Battalion (424) in the Givati Brigade.

Sylvester was killed at approximately noon when six Hezbollah explosive drones were launched toward a Givati force operating in southern Lebanon. The drones struck a Namer armored personnel carrier, killing the battalion doctor and wounding several others.
In the attack, two IDF officers and one soldier were seriously wounded, another soldier sustained moderate injuries, and two officers and one soldier were lightly wounded. Among those lightly injured was the commander of the Shaked Battalion. All were evacuated to hospitals for treatment, and their families were informed.
Sylvester is the 15th Israeli fatality since the ceasefire took effect in Lebanon.
According to reports, this marks the first time since the beginning of the war that an IDF physician has been killed during active ground maneuver operations.
The two incidents come amid growing concern over Hezbollah’s continued use of explosive drones, which have accounted for the majority of Israeli fatalities recorded since the ceasefire agreement went into effect.
