Cleared for publication: Master Sgt. (Res.) Alexander Glovanyov HY”D, 47, of Petach Tikvah, who served as a heavy transport driver in Battalion 6924, was killed in battle near the Lebanon border while defending Yidden and Eretz Yisroel.
According to an initial investigation, the Hezbollah terror organization launched several explosive drones toward an IDF position near Menara along Israel’s northern border. One of the drones struck Glovanyov HY”D while he was transporting heavy equipment to the outpost on behalf of the IDF Logistics Directorate.
Another soldier suffered shock as a result of the attack.
A second drone reportedly landed inside the outpost but did not explode and was later neutralized by combat engineers.
Two additional drones fell outside the base area without causing injuries, Baruch Hashem.
With the passing of Alexander Glovanyov HY”D, the number of soldiers killed since the beginning of the current round of fighting in northern Israel has risen to 18.
