We are deeply saddened to report on the passing of the untimely Rabbi Yehuda Shomer, a young father and member of the Pittsburgh Chabad community. He passed away Wednesday night, Rosh Chodesh Nissan, 5783.
He was 32 years old.
Born in Toronto, Canada, Yehuda lived in Crown Heights for several years before moving to Pittsburgh where he worked as a teacher at Yeshiva Schools and Hillel who was passionate about education
He is survived by his daughters Menucha and Chaya.
He is also survived by his father R’ Moshe Shomer of Milford, CT; Mother Rivka Shomer – Toronto. His siblings Avremi Shomer – Toronto; Faigy Chapley – Cleveland, OH; Yisroel Shomer – Las Vegas, NV; Shalom Shomer – Detroit, MI; Yossi Shomer – Brooklyn, NY; Chaim Shomer – Toronto; Dovid Shomer – Toronto; and Eli Shomer – Cleveland, OH.
The Levaya will take place today, Thursday, passing by 770 at approximately 12:15 pm, and burial at Old Montefiore Cemetery at 1:00 pm.
