We are deeply saddened to report on the passing of Mrs. Leah Althaus, a young mother and Shlucha in Dnieper. She passed away on 16 Adar II, 5784.
She was 28.
Leah was the daughter of Harav Meir Ashkenazi, mara d’asra of Kfar Chabad, and the granddaughter of Harav David Meir Druckman, Rov of Kiryat Motzkin.
After her marriage to Rabbi Zelig Althaus in 5776, the couple set out on Shlichus to Dnipro, where her husband served as Mashpia in the Tomchei Temimim Yeshiva.
Recently, Leah suffered a heart complication leaving her in critical condition and was flown to Eretz Yisroel for treatment. She sadly passed away today at Tel Hashomer Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Rabbi Zelig Althaus, and their four children.
The Levaya took place in Kfar Chabad and was she was laid to rest in the Achiezer cemetery.
