The Siyum of the ninth Children’s Sefer Torah, scheduled for 20 Menachem Av at the Kosel, will feature an unprecedented live global broadcast linking major Jewish centers around the world in real time.
The interactive production will connect the gathering at the Kosel with thousands of Chassidim in Almaty, Kazakhstan, marking the yahrtzeit of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Schneerson, the Rebbe’s father, as well as celebrations at 770 in New York and additional Jewish communities worldwide.
Organizers say the broadcast is inspired by the historic “Chanukah Live” format, creating a simultaneous worldwide celebration.
Preparations at the Kosel are underway, while registration has already begun for the tenth Children’s Sefer Torah after all the letters in the ninth Sefer Torah were claimed.
