The historic and inspiring Siyum and Hachnasas Sefer Torah for the Ninth Children’s Sefer Torah took place at the Kosel, bringing together tens of thousands in a joyous celebration of Jewish unity.
In light of the unprecedented preparations and the massive crowds expected to attend, the organizing committee arranged a professional live broadcast, enabling Jews across Eretz Yisroel and around the world to take part in this special occasion from wherever they were.
As is well known, the Rebbe repeatedly emphasized the tremendous privilege and responsibility of participating in the completion of a Sefer Torah. The Rebbe specifically encouraged every Jew to take an interest in the Siyum of the Sefer Torah and urged everyone to participate in the celebration “with their soul, their body, and their possessions.”
The live broadcast gave those unable to attend in person the opportunity to fulfill the Rebbe’s directive by joining the celebration from afar and sharing in the joy of this historic event.
Even after the Siyum, supporters can still take part in the project by contributing toward the expenses of the Hachnasas Sefer Torah. Donations of 236 NIS or more include the well-known protective cloth associated with the Frierdiker Rebbe, a cherished segulah for the spiritual and physical well-being of children.
