Officials said the suspension affects B1/B2 visas, which are used for tourism and medical treatment. More than 3,800 such visas have been issued to Palestinian Authority residents since the beginning of the year, including 640 in May alone.

Jewish-American activist Laura Loomer praised the decision, calling it a necessary step to protect US borders and ensure that visas are issued responsibly.
President Donald Trump’s administration emphasized that the review is part of a broader effort to tighten US immigration and humanitarian programs, ensuring that the process aligns with national security priorities.
