The first Chabad House is located in a major business complex in central Moscow, near two key metro stations, making it easily accessible to Jews from across the city.

Designed as a hub for Torah and Chassidus learning at all hours and for all levels, the Chabad House features a rich Torah library and carefully prepared facilities to create a welcoming and respectful environment for both students and teachers.

The initiative for this new center was led by philanthropist Rabbi Yehuda Davidov, chairman of the “770 Russia” foundation. In coordination with Russia’s Chief Rabbi, Rabbi Berel Lazar, the project was incorporated into the continued expansion of the growing network of Chabad Houses throughout Moscow.

The event was combined with the completion of a new Sefer Torah, generously donated by participants of the center’s regular Chassidus classes. The beautifully adorned Torah crown was presented by Rabbi Dovid Mundshine, chairman of the Or Avner educational foundation, on behalf of the Shluchim and rabbanim across Russia, in recognition of Rabbi Davidov’s ongoing support for the Shluchim, their families, and their communities.

On Motzei Shabbos Hagadol, Chief Rabbi Berel Lazar traveled to the “Zil” neighborhood along the Mark Chagall promenade in southern Moscow to affix a Mezuzah at the new Chabad House serving the “Chagall” community. He was welcomed by the local shliach and community rabbi, Rabbi Shaul Shimon Deitch, along with respected members of the community, who showcased the new facility located in the heart of the prestigious neighborhood.

Surrounded by modern high-rise buildings and home to many Jewish families, the new Chabad House was already preparing to host large numbers of participants for Pesach, including Sedarim, tefillos, and Torah classes.
