Three Weeks in Tents: 150 Girls Still Without a School Building

For the third consecutive week, the students of Beis Chaya Mushka are attending classes in tents set up along the streets of Kfar Chabad, as the school continues to wait for a suitable building.
Some 150 students remain without a permanent place to learn. On Yud-Zayin Elul, the first-grade students joined the school as well, beginning their first school year under the same difficult conditions.
The students were forced to leave the private building rented by the school’s administration following complaints that were filed against the institution. Despite the passage of several weeks, the school has yet to be provided with a suitable alternative.
The situation is particularly striking given that Kfar Chabad is home to 12 schools. Beis Chaya Mushka, a school dedicated to education on the highest standards of Taharas HaKodesh, is the only educational institution in Kfar Chabad that has not been allocated land or a building.
More than 100 of the school’s students are themselves residents of Kfar Chabad, yet they continue to begin each school day in temporary tents along the streets of the village.
As another week of classes gets underway, the 150 students and their families continue to wait for a permanent solution and a proper place for the girls to learn.
