A moving evening was held at the “Beis Eli” complex in Kfar Chabad with the dedication of a new home for lone soldiers, named in memory of IDF hero Ran Gvili, HY”D.

Ran’s parents, Talik and Itzik, moved the audience with personal stories about their son’s bravery and the remarkable chain of miracles surrounding his return.

The event was also attended by Avi Kay, father of Eli Kay, HY”D, in whose memory the original “Beit Eli” was established.

The evening brought together remembrance, heroism, faith and continuity, as the newly renovated home for lone soldiers was inaugurated alongside the opening of “Beis Ran Gvili,” dedicated in memory of the October 7 hero who went to fight and save lives before falling in battle.

“Beis Eli” was originally established in memory of Eli Kay, HY”D, who was murdered in a terrorist attack in Jerusalem. Over the years, it has become a warm home for lone soldiers, providing Shabbos and Yom Tov hospitality, meals, support, empowerment programs and a sense of family.

With the program expanding and the need to assist additional soldiers growing, the new home will provide further accommodations and support for lone soldiers while perpetuating Ran’s memory through acts of Chessed and care.

One of the evening’s most poignant moments came as the families of the two heroes stood together: Avi Kay, alongside Talik and Itzik Gvili. Their presence symbolized the connection between two stories of sacrifice and heroism, with their memories being carried forward through life, kindness and support for those serving in the IDF.

Former Israel Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai addressed the gathering, while a letter from The Rebbe was read during the event. The evening concluded with a Chassidishe farbrengen that continued late into the night.
