The King is in the Field: Cheder Ohr Menachem Pays A Visit
Cheder Ohr Menachem celebrated with a special day of Limud HaTorah and Niflaos HaBoray, combining Torah and nature. From inspiring Shiurim and Davening to apple picking and a festive BBQ, the Talmidim immersed themselves in Kedusha while strengthening their bonds with each other and their teachers. In a vibrant display of Kedusha spirit, Cheder ‘Ohr Menachem’ embarked on a unique day of Limud HaTorah and Niflaos HaBoray, celebrating nature and Torah amidst the lush greenery of Queens and the mountains. This special outing was a perfect antidote to the Labor Day celebrations taking place in the Shchuna that often limit the Kedusha spirit.
Under the skilled planning of Rabbi Zalman Goldstein and Led by Rabbi Yusewitz and Rabbi Overlander the trip kicked off early in the morning with the boys pitching in to load the bus. Their first stop was Rabbi Zvulunov’s Shul, where Rabbi Dovber Bryski taught the daily Tanya, afterwhich the Talmidim sang Perek Mem Alef and participated in a Lebedike davening.
As breakfast was being prepared the Menahel, Rabbi Yusewitz, gave a Shiur on Hilchos Rosh Hashanah. Limud haTorah being one of the highlights of the day and setting the stage for a meaningful day ahead. The Elul atmosphere was heightened when Rabbi Botnik blew the shofar, followed by a sumptuous breakfast that energized the boys for the for the apple picking to come.
The students then enjoyed a scenic hike, immersing themselves in the beauty of nature, before heading out to pick fresh apples L’Kovod Rosh Hashanah.
The day’s festivities culminated in a special BBQ, a perfect way to bond and celebrate their experiences.
This special outing fostered a deeper connection with nature and Torah, whilst also strengthening the bond among the Talmidim and their teachers.
Choosing Limud HaTorah and Niflaos HaBoray, the students demonstrated their commitment to prioritizing Kedusha.
The grand highlight was when a Yid aged 91 put on Tefilin, after 78 years! The last time he wrapped Tefillin was at his Bar Mitzvah.
