A Palestinian man was shot and killed Tuesday after carrying out a stabbing attack against a female Israeli soldier in the West Bank, Hebrew media reported.

The soldier, alongside a male colleague, was operating at Gitai Avisar Junction, south of Nablus in the West Bank. When the couple stopped a vehicle for a routine check up, they noticed a man passing them by on foot and behaving suspiciously, outlet N12 reported.

The man drew a knife from a short distance and tried to stab the female soldier three times as she fought him off with her weapon.
