Teaching Children to Conquer Every Challenge

As parents, we often worry about the “rivers” our children will face – the peer pressure, the doubts, and the obstacles that can make doing the right thing feel impossible • Full Article

The Midrash relates a powerful story: When Avraham Avinu faced his final and most difficult test – the Akeidah – the Yetzer Hara tried again and again to stop him.

As Avraham and Yitzchak journeyed toward Har HaMoriah, the Yetzer Hara appeared in various disguises, finally creating a massive, roaring river to block their path.

Avraham pressed forward, treating the raging river as if it were a mere puddle. Suddenly, it disappeared.

As parents, we often worry about the “rivers” our children will face – the peer pressure, the doubts, and the obstacles that can make doing the right thing feel impossible.

On 12 Tammuz 5714, The Rebbe shared this story to teach a vital lesson:

Anything hindering a Yid from fulfilling Hashem’s will has no true existence. It is merely a trick of the Yetzer Hara. When we stand firm, these obstacles lose their power and vanish.

Stories the Rebbe Chose to Share

Over the years, the Rebbe told many powerful stories with applicable messages for us and our children.

In the MyMaor book series, “A Gutte Nacht with the Rebbe,” we carefully craft these stories for our young readers, combining captivating storytelling with eye-catching illustrations.

In the words of Mrs. Rishe Deitsch, the editor of Neshei Newsletter: “I WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZED. Not only is the writing top-notch, not only is the content exactly what the Rebbe wants, not only are the pictures riveting, but the editing! What a pleasure to read.”

Volume #1 of the series sold out quickly.
