A new Gemara B’Iyun program, Kollel Iyun HaTalmud, is offering a special week of introductory shiurim on Mesechtas Pesachim, featuring renowned Roshei Yeshiva and Maggidei Shiur Rabbi Dov Popack, Rabbi Moshe Wolberg, and Rabbi Mendel Krasnjanski.

The introductory shiurim will give participants a taste of the depth, clarity, and excitement of learning Gemara B’Iyun, while introducing the unique approach of the newly launched Kollel.

Under the theme “Nurturing Your Geshmak for Learning Gemara B’Iyun,” the new program seeks to provide Anash with the opportunity to engage in serious, meaningful learning B’Iyun, with a structured framework designed to accommodate their existing personal, family, and professional responsibilities.

    Three Special Introductory Shiurim

The series will begin on Monday, 1 Cheshvan, at 8:30 PM ET, with Rabbi Dov Popack presenting “Why Iyun? Seeing the Sugya in a Different Light.” The shiur will explore how learning Gemara B’Iyun opens new dimensions of understanding and appreciation for a sugya.

On Tuesday, 2 Cheshvan, at 1:15 PM ET, Rabbi Moshe Wolberg will present “An Introduction to מסכת פסחים,” providing participants with an introduction to the masechta and an approach to its study B’Iyun.

The introductory series will conclude on Thursday, 4 Cheshvan, at 1:15 PM ET, with Rabbi Mendel Krasnjanski presenting “Getting to Know the Meforshim on Mesechtas Pesachim,” familiarizing participants with the major Meforshim and their approaches to understanding the sugyos.

A New Opportunity for Anash to Learn Gemara B’Iyun

Kollel Iyun HaTalmud was created to address the desire among Anash to continue learning Gemara B’Iyun beyond their yeshiva years.

Recognizing that many individuals wish to engage in serious Gemara learning but find it challenging to do so without a structured framework, the new Kollel offers two tracks tailored to different levels of experience and time commitments.

The Guided Iyun track, requiring approximately 3–5 hours weekly, provides structured shiurim, guidance, and learning materials to help participants develop their skills and gain a deeper understanding of the Gemara.

The Advanced Iyun track, requiring approximately 6–10 hours weekly, offers a more intensive program, combining independent learning with in-depth shiurim from experienced Roshei Yeshiva.

Both tracks include chavrusa assistance, ongoing guidance, and carefully prepared learning materials.

An additional benefit is the opportunity for fathers to learn the same masechta as their sons in yeshiva, creating a meaningful connection through shared Torah learning.

The Kollel’s goal is not merely to help participants cover more material, but to nurture a genuine geshmak in learning Gemara B’Iyun — rediscovering the excitement of working through a sugya, exploring its depth, and gaining a clear understanding of its underlying concepts.
