It is never too late to celebrate a Bar Mitzvah!
This week at the Chabad House in Cozumel, Mexico led by the shliach Rabbi Dudi Kaplan, a 102-year-old Jew by the name of Milton Peak, agreed to put on tefillin for the first time in his life at the request of the Shliach (after a long conversation), to have a Bar Mitzvah in the Chabad House. He was honored with Aliya, in honor of the event.
The excited Jew, decorated as a World War II hero, arrived at the Chabad house and just before his aliya (to give him a Jewish Name), he remembered his Jewish name – ‘Melech’ – a name he never used or told anyone!
“Everyone moved, he just burst into tears just before his Aliya. No one remained indifferent,” Rabbi Kaplan told Chabadinfo.
