Meir BaLayla: Simcha Friedman Releases New Single
A few months after releasing his previous hit song, “Im Yirtze Hashem,” which enjoyed widespread success on streaming platforms and constant airplay on radio stations, Chabad singer Simcha Friedman is back with a new melodic and soothing single in an Israeli style: “Meir BaLayla” (Illuminating the Night) • Read More, Watch
The song, written and composed by Yair Shoval, with arrangement by Shmuel Cohen, was released on Motzei Shabbat.
“Especially during these sensitive times, it’s important to convey a message of light, hope, and faith,” Simcha shared with us. “Even in the ‘night’—during difficult and dark times—Hashem illuminates and gives us the strength to find points of light. As believers, we know that everything that happens is part of a divine plan, as the Alter Rebbe writes in Tanya, ‘No evil descends from Above.’”
Simcha added, “I pray together with all of Am Yisrael for the safe return of all those who have been taken captive and for us to receive as many good tidings and ‘moments of light’ as possible in our challenging reality here in Eretz HaKodesh. I hope that the song Meir BaLayla touches many hearts and gives them the strength to face any challenge.”
The song is accompanied by a special and original music video, produced by Miri Tennenold. The video brings every word of the song to life, providing a surprising and enjoyable viewing experience.
