The niggun serves as the closing track of Ge’aguim 9, which was released last year, capturing the spirit and devotion of Reb Hillel, who was known for living his life “in niggun and dance,” as described by his close friend, Hachosid Reb Isaac Homilier: “I lived my life with Hasaga — intellect — he, Reb Hillel, lived his life with niggun and dance.”
The album draws inspiration from a sicha of the Frierdiker Rebbe, which cites Reb Hillel on the four essential gifts a Chassidishe child receives from his father or teacher: a Torah insight or story from the Rebbe; a Niggun associated with the Rebbe; repeated lessons or observations; and the Hanhaga or example of an elder Chassid – together forming the “four walls of a Chassidishe Sukkah.”
Work is already underway on Ge’aguim 10, the next installment in the series, expected to be released soon, b’ezras Hashem.
