An impressive and well-produced Lag BaOmer parade featuring students of the Ohr Menachem institutions and their parents made a powerful impression and brought about a tremendous Kiddush Hashem and Kiddush Shem Lubavitch in São Paulo, Brazil.
The parade marched through the heart of the Higienópolis Jewish neighborhood in honor of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, accompanied by a large police escort and representatives of the local Jewish federation, who closed the streets in honor of the event.
The program began with a special gathering at the large Sephardic synagogue Monte Sinai, under the direction of shliach Rabbi David Azulay, who delivered warm opening remarks. Led by educator Rabbi Daniel Fish, the program included the 12 Pesukim, Torah, tefillah, and tzedakah, footage from the Rebbe’s Lag BaOmer parade, presentations by students about the Baal Shem Tov and Rashbi delivered by Rabbi Michael Tabatchnik, a children’s choir led by Rabbi Eliyahu Axelrod, performances by student drummers, and a magic show for the children.
Following the gathering, the parade set out with decorated vehicles displaying elaborate exhibits prepared by the Ohr Menachem high school students. They were followed by a sound truck playing festive music and another vehicle featuring video footage of the Rebbe from the parade at 770.
Marching behind them were seventh-grade student drummers, fifth-grade students with displays and costumes themed around Mivtza Tefillin, third-grade Tzivos Hashem soldiers, and second-grade students highlighting the Tzedakah campaign. Kindergarten students marched with themes including Kibbutz Galuyos and the Six Days of Creation, while the Ohr Menachem girls’ school students presented displays and costumes centered on the Rebbe’s Mivtzoim, the Torah, kashrus, and more.
Parents, families, and members of the Jewish community participated enthusiastically and expressed appreciation to the parade organizer, educational director Rabbi Aryeh Baruch Bloch, and the institutions’ CEO Rabbi Yaakov Grunstat.
The tremendous Kiddush Hashem and Kiddush Shem Lubavitch, infused with the Rebbe Melech HaMoshiach’s message of Geulah, undoubtedly brought great nachas to the Rebbe and hastened the revelation of Moshiach.
