When Rabbi Levi Yitzchak was exiled to Kazakhstan, Rebbetzin Chana left everything behind to join him. Through the hardest years of his exile, she remained at his side with extraordinary mesiras nefesh. When proper writing materials were unavailable, she prepared ink from grasses and other local materials so that he could continue recording his Torah insights.

After his passing, she carefully guarded his manuscripts under extremely difficult conditions. Because of her devotion, much of his Torah was preserved for future generations. She devoted herself to Rabbi Levi Yitzchak and to preserving his Torah.

Today, thousands of Jewish women and girls proudly carry her name.

Every Chana’s name will be brought to the Tziyun.

Ahead of Yom Kippur, the names of all registered Chanas, together with the names of their family members submitted for blessing, will be brought for tefillah to the holy tziyun of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak in Almaty, Kazakhstan, where Rebbetzin Chana stood beside him during his exile, and to Rebbetzin Chana’s resting place in Queens, New York.

Additionally, on every Erev Rosh Chodesh (bli neder), the names of all registrants will be mentioned at the holy tzion in Almaty, alongside the names of all the “Levi Yitzchaks” registered in the initiative honoring the Rebbe’s father.

Were you named Chana after the Rebbetzin? Do you have a daughter, sister, granddaughter, or friend named after her? Enter the raffle now — and pass this on to every “Chana” you know!
